Let's  be  friends

Hello there!
I'm so glad you stopped by my blog! This is the place where I help tell a story - a story of adventure, beauty, and most importantly, a story of love. I think you can agree that we all could use a little bit more of that in our world, right?

The Erbes: An Oahu Family Session

You probably have seen our favorite Erbes on my blog before! We shot their sunrise family photos on Utah Lake last summer when they came to visit us, and we were THRILLED to learn that our trip to Oahu was going to line up with THEIR trip to Hawaii! Ben grew up on the island, and his family remains on Oahu and Big Island. Ben’s brother lives on a self-sustaining farm on the Big Island, and is also the stake president for their church, which encompasses half the LDS population on that island! SO, needless to say, they are quite the busy family and it can be difficult for them to take time away from the farm and their church responsibilities. This was the first time that he was able to be together with all his siblings, their children, and even grandma and grandpa in years, so it was the perfect opportunity for me to take their photos!

Adam and Ben are basically brothers, so all of these wonderful people feel like extended family to us, too! We had perfect, overcast skies for their session with not even a drop of rain! It is always so hard to coordinate schedules with this many different people and children involved, but they made it happen and these photos turned out so fun! I hope that the evening created happy memories for them to share with their cousins + grandparents, and that these photos provide proof of that! Proof to generations to come that they put in the effort to just BE together, that family relationships are important and worth sacrificing for!

The LDS Laie temple was the perfect backdrop to their session. It was peaceful, beautiful, and reminded us all that families are forever! Afterwards, we ran down the street for a quick last-second photos at the beach (because why be in Hawaii and NOT take photos at the beach, am I right?). We loved getting to see not only Ben and their sweet family, but the rest of his crew as well!
