Let's  be  friends

Hello there! I'm so glad you stopped by my blog! This is the place where I help tell a story - a story of adventure, beauty, and most importantly, a story of love. I think you can agree that we all could use a little bit more of that in our world, right? If you want to follow our travels, check out our the National Park Family blog!

Friendor Friday: Staci Lynn Designs

I found out about Staci Lynn Designs through a local Tuesday’s Together group. She had posted about wanting to collaborate on projects and styled shoots, and I reached out to her. She does such fun work with invitations, high school and baby announcements, notecards, and business logos. I can’t wait to work with her on a styled shoot in the future! She’s sweet, quick to respond and act, and talented.

Feature Friday

staci-hicks-graphic-design_0001staci-hicks-graphic-design_0007How did you get started in your business?

I grew up in a family that let me be me and never tried to change that. They let me express myself through art. I have always loved design. I went to school for Graphic Design & Visual Communication. I really started to love wedding stationery after my sister asked me to design her wedding invitations. It was at that point that I knew I wanted to start a business where I could help make people’s events shine through their stationery. When I created Staci Lynn Designs I was overwhelmed with all the love and support from family and friends. I wouldn’t choose any other career path. Design will always have my heart.

How would you describe your style? What is your favorite type of work to do?

Good question! I would have to say that my favorite kind of work would be wedding stationery and wedding branding. I also have a passion for business branding. I just love taking something from scratch and making it my own.  I find myself really drawn to florals, boho & watercolor. I am not sure if I have a particular style. I think that is what makes me unique. I am not cramped by one passion. I know that if someone were to come to me and say I really wanted a woodlands themed wedding invitation I know I could do it.

What is your favorite part about your work?

My favorite part of my work is seeing how passionate my customers are and showing them how passionate I am for the work that I do. I absolutely love when you finish a project and send it to the customer and they get so excited and tell you how you nailed it and they couldn’t have asked for a better person to design this piece for them.

How do you love to serve your clients?

I absolutely love to make sure every client gets what they want. I don’t ever like to turn people away because of budget or project needs. I love to come up with alternatives! I love to learn new things and I love to broaden my scope. If you come to me with a project I have never done before or don’t have much experience in, you can bet I will make it my mission to figure it out. I never did like high school but college was incredible to me. It left me with so many options and so many cool things that I could learn. There are so many brilliant people out there just wanting to teach people their “art” and I love meeting those kinds of people who are as passionate about teaching as I am about learning.

If you had one tip for a bride, what would it be?

Don’t settle. If you want something in particular or you like a designers specific style go for it. I have met so many clients who settled for a design just because they wanted it done now and wanted a cost effective design. I am here to tell you there are people out there that will make it there goal in life to make sure you get the design you deserve. And then there are people who will just do the design to put money in the bank. I love my job and my clients. There is nothing I love more than spoiling my clients and seeing how excited they get to see the final piece.

On top of all her graphic design, she also sells her handmade jewelry through her business, Adorn! Be sure to check that out!
