Josh and Carol’s love story is one I cherish, for several reasons. For one thing, the very first time I learned about these two, the story was told from Josh’s mother’s point of view. She was so clearly proud, excited, and happy for her son – and for herself to be gaining such a beautiful new daughter! She enthusiastically wrote of their meeting while they both served a mission together to Sao Paulo, Brazil. After Josh’s mission was finished, he continued his correspondence with Carol and just a few short months later, he returned to Brazil….this time with a ring to offer and a question to ask. Who wouldn’t fall for that kind of dazzling romance??

Carol stayed with Josh’s parents for a month before her marriage to Josh, and I can only imagine that the love they had for each other only grew deeper and stronger as they learned more about their soon-to-be daughter. Her family is from Porto Velho, Brazil, and I adored meeting her mother and two sisters. They clearly had such a strong bond to Carol, but also to Josh! Both families were clearly wonderful on their own, but combined made for an even stronger presence of love and holiness.

Another fun thing about conversing with Josh’s mom via email is I got to hear behind-the-scenes stories about Josh!! As a mother of two boys myself, it was a really fun perspective to hear and witness her love for him, especially during such an exciting time of life!

Meeting Josh and Carol in person only proved that all the wonderful things his mom had said about them were true – they really were a genuine, sweet, and perfect couple. Not only that, but this was my first wedding that I was able to shoot film on, and I am completely head over heels in love with the way they all turned out. I am officially hooked. Thank you Josh, and Carol for trusting me with your day – I am so happy I got to be a part of it!
