I had been looking forward to Paula and Russell’s wedding day since we took their snowy, wintery engagement photos at Bridal Veil Falls! I knew they were a fun, adventurous couple and I was excited to see how their wedding day would reflect that! The sky was a bright, crisp blue and the tulips were blooming for a perfect spring day. Russell was his usual self, making everyone laugh with his Steel Blue stares and model faces, and Paula’s smile could not be hidden nor subdued. They were giddy with joy this day! This wedding was also fun for me because I got to see and shoot my family!!
I was so excited for an outdoor reception! Not only is it easier and more fun for me to photograph, but it meant that the weather was warming up! The backyard was effortlessly romantic, while still being casual and comfortable. I loved watching Paula as she welcomed friends and family she hadn’t seen for awhile – she embraced them with warmth and true excitement, and treated them as if it was just as special to see them as it was for her to get married that day! I also loved watching Paula and Russell’s first dance; it was one of the sweetest moments from the whole day. It was as if everything around them had stopped and they finally had time for just the two of them to be alone.
