The Horners were my LAST family session of the year….they were also my first session where the battery on my film camera died halfway through their session!! That was a sad lesson for me to learn: Always carry extra double A’s in my camera bag. However, it was kind of fun to use both film and digital for this session, to see the similarities and differences right next to each other.
I have really loved photographing this family in the past few years. They have become more than just clients to me – they have become role models of parents and marriage. Neesha, especially, has become a dear friend to me and a reminder of being a strong, independent woman while still nourishing and flourishing in her role as a mother and wife. In the past, I’ve not only photographed their family but have done a solo portrait session just for Neesha’s birthday, have watched Neesha labor and deliver her fifth and last child, and have witnessed miracles in their family as they’ve struggled through medical challanges with William.
This was the first family session we took deliberate time out for just the two of them and I’m so glad we did. Their love and devotion shows, and I’m grateful to not only be a witness to it, but able to capture it for them to reflect on in times of difficulty and stress. Love you and your family so much!
