Winter Wood Farm Wedding

Kasi + Micah

Kasi and Micah’s Winter Wood Farm wedding was so dreamy! Though the clouds threatened us with rain throughout the day, during their ceremony the sun came out and showered them with light. It stayed clear the rest of the night, and these two even had their first dance outside under the stars. There were so many sweet and tender moments, and I loved re-living them all in this blog post!

Meant for Each Other

Kasi and Micah both wrote letters and gave gifts to one another before the ceremony. Obviously, this is not an unusual tradition for my brides and grooms. But what I have never had happen is that they gave each other the exact. same. gift! Not only did they BOTH give each other a watch, but they BOTH had the SAME THING ENGRAVED ON THE BACK! Can you believe that? Their letters were SO similar, too! I couldn’t help but think, “Okay, they are definitely meant for each other!” as I watched this all unfold!

An Emotional First Look

After opening her gift from Micah, Kasi wanted to have a first look….but not with Micah, with her father and her brother. Her dad was emotional and oh-so-proud of his beautiful daughter. Kasi’s brother was so overwhelmed that he wouldn’t turn around when she first tapped him on the shoulder! She had to coax him into turning around, and he needed a few extra minutes to regain composure before he could face his sister. It was the most tear-worthy moment! The love in their family was evident and so pure and strong!

And while Kasi and Micah did not share a First Look before the ceremony, they did hold hands around a door and said a prayer together. After they said their amens, Kasi kept holding onto Micah and said, “I just want to stay here! I don’t want you to leave!” It was clear they were both SO ready to final be together in marriage!!

The Ceremony

The clouds parted and sun streamed over the two of them as they promised forever to each other. As Kasi and Micah tied their knot together during the ceremony, two of her bridesmaids serenaded the audience to a song. It was so wonderful and perfect that at first I thought it was a recording! It wasn’t until I turned around and saw them sharing the microphone that I realized it was them.

The Reception

Taking a peek at their reception and decor, I never could have guessed that these two traveled all the way from Iowa! They thought of everything! Not only that, but everything had a personal touch or handmade element to it. I was blown away by their thoughtfulness and attention to detail! Another favorite moment of mine was their first dance. Kasi and Micah chose to dance together by themselves, as their guests were lining up for their sparkler exit. It was just the two of them out on the back porch (and little old me, too of course), as they turned on the music and slowly danced together. I loved this idea! Not to mention, I LOVE sparkler exits. It was the perfect ending to their perfect day!
