The Lattice Tree Studio‘s Instagram account completely stopped me in my tracks! …I mean, of course it did. Her work is floral, feminine, sometimes soft – and sometimes eye-catchingly bold! Nothing speaks more to me than florals 🙂

I have gone back to her feed several times just to admire her work and talent. I feel like a struck a gold mine when I found her! I can’t wait to collaborate with her on projects in the future, and I’m thrilled to have her on the blog today for my Friendor Friday!

How did you get started in your business?
I started my business in the summer of 2015, after working several years as an in house designer for a couple of design firms. I enjoyed working as an in-house designer, but I really wanted to be able to use my fine art background to its full potential. I knew that the best way to be able to do that would be to start my own business and find my niche. After designing all of the paper items for my own wedding, I absolutely fell in love with stationery design. Not to mention, growing up I would spend hours in stationery stores looking at all of the different colors and types of papers and cards. I knew that designing wedding invitations and custom stationery would allow me to combine my graphic design and fine art skills, and really allow me to be creative. So I decided to finally take the plunge this past summer, and it has been the most rewarding experience so far.

How would you describe your style and/or what is your favorite type of work to do?
My style focuses a lot on hand-painted/hand-illustrated elements. I love to paint with watercolors, especially floral motifs. A lot of my designs are nature inspired.

What is your favorite part about your work?
My absolute favorite part is the fact that I can contribute in a small way to someone’s special day. I love working with brides and seeing them happy with my finished product. I enjoy creating works of art that they can cherish for years to come and have something to remind them of their wedding day.

How do you love to serve your clients?
I really enjoy being able to put a bride’s vision on paper. A lot of brides know exactly what they want, and have many inspiration boards already prepared for their wedding. I love being able to take all of their ideas and create something that fits their vision. I love that a lot of brides are so creative, it allows me to be my best creative self as well.

If you had one tip for a bride, what would it be?
In terms of wedding invitations, my one tip to brides would be to skip the envelope liners. I know envelope liners are in style, but they are usually impractical. Once your envelopes are sealed, your guest will rip the envelope open by tearing the top seam, and will miss the envelope liner altogether. If the bride really wants to have this extra detail, I would recommend sealing your envelopes with a sticker that would allow your guest to pull the flap up without tearing it. This way, the flap will remain intact, and your guest will be able to see it.
