Rebekah’s Senior Portraits

If you’ve been around this blog for any length of time, then I can almost guarantee you have seen the beautiful faces of at least one member of my favorite Beutler family. So far I have photographed them as a family, took Emily’s senior photos, Kathryn’s senior photos. I witnessed the absolutely stunning wedding of Kathryn and the newest Beutler family member, her now husband Eric. And now, the latest are these gorgeous images from Rebekah’s senior session.

Rebekah is the third daughter in a row, smack dab in the middle. She is incredibly sweet, down to earth, and such a soothing and mellow energy to be around. She is applying to a music therapy program, and in order to qualify she needed to be proficient in guitar. So, out of the blue, she picked up the instrument and just started learning it. How incredible is that? She told me that music “takes up quite literally every second of my life. I’m really involved in my school’s orchestra, choir, and theatre program, the Chesapeake Youth Symphony Orchestra, their Jazz Ensemble, and recently I’ve started teaching private viola lessons.” On top of the guitar and viola, she also plays the violin, the piano, and she sings.

Rebekah wanted a more rustic setting for her photos, so we decided to shoot at Kinder Farm Park. However, I wanted to be sure that if we included the barns, this session didn’t look “farm-y.” This meant that when we did photograph in front of the red barn, it was paired with her edgiest outfit. It also meant taking advantage of the soft tall green grass, and brought in a floral pink skirt and her viola to soften the look.

Rebekah has incredible drive and talent, and I loved photographing her during this exciting time of life. She said she can’t wait to “be independent and get to know [herself] in a whole new way.” I can’t wait to see where that independence takes her either!

Meghan is a Maryland and North Carolina Senior Portrait Photographer who loves days spent in the sunshine and going barefoot as much as possible.
