You guys already know how much I adore Sarah, right? I mean, if you haven’t, just read my post in which I gush over her as my second shooter. She has seriously been a blessing in my business and my personal life. She’s probably the best example I’ve ever met of a person who is kind and soft-spoken, while also being strict, prompt, and no-sass-allowed. She tells me up front what she thinks, answers my questions honestly, and yet I am left feeling more loved by her, not less. I don’t know how she does that.
Well, guess what! I don’t just love Sarah, I love her whole family! The last time I had them all together was a year ago, which is incredibly hard to believe! Luke has grown up to be this big old cutie-pie of a boy, who smiles wide and giggles loud…but only when the camera is not pointed at him. I had to be sneaky and fast to catch his true personality. And Madilyn is still Madilyn – fierce and smart, soft and just-the-right-amount girly, only older, prettier, and more mature.
Sarah had sent me some pins on Pinterest of ideas she liked for her session. When she first told me she wanted to shoot at the tree farm, I wasn’t sure if she was hoping for a super Christmas-y type theme, but after talking more about her vision she wanted these photos to be ones she could hang up in her house all year round, while subtly reminding her of the Pacific Northwest (while also realizing…hey, we’re still in Maryland).
Our last session was a bit cloudy and overcast, so I was SO happy that this session was filled with the perfect glowy light that comes only from a cloud-free sunset. This session has my heart, and was the perfect end to my 2015 family season!!
