This Emily has a special place in my heart! You guys already know how much I love this family, and how gorgeous her older sister’s senior session turned out – so I just knew this session was going to be incredible!! I always love and encourage for my seniors to bring items that represent their hobbies or anything that makes them special for their session. I was excited to hear Emily would be bringing her violin, as I like rising to the challenge it presents to incorporate this instrument into posing and the locations. It always strengthens my creativity and really makes each session unique to the senior!
This was not my first time photographing a senior with a violin, but it definitely was my first time having a senior bring …..cupcakes!! Emily is an AMAZING baker and has plans to start a cupcake business once she gets to Utah and starts college. She told me she will be rooming with her cousin and partnering with her! I am so excited for Emily and love her drive and excitement for starting a business. As an entrepreneur myself, I am rooting for her and her dreams!!
I always love to send my seniors a questionnaire before their session to make sure I get a sense of who they are, and so I can understand how to make them shine as the best version of themselves throughout their session. One of my questions asks my seniors to describe their personality for me, and Emily’s answer has been one of my favorites so far: “I like to be happy, and I like to make other people happy, too.” As I read that, I knew she was not only telling the truth, but was also revealing more about herself than maybe she originally thought. Emily IS happy, and she naturally makes other people want to be happy, too just by being around her. These photos make ME oh-so-happy….especially the cupcake ones 😉
