I was so excited to finally meet Amy and Drew in person!! We had had a Skype date for our initial wedding consultation, and I knew instantly they were going to be such a great pair to work with. Not only were they good friends with two favorite past clients, but they just seemed like so much FUN to be around. As Amy and I exchanged emails in regards to location ideas for their engagement session, I grew to love their spontaneous and joyful personalities. Getting closer to their session, we found that the weather was supposed to be quite rainy. I suggested moving our session to an indoor location, and Amy was fine to go along with that plan, but she also said they’d like to end their session by ditching the umbrellas and just playing in the rain!! When I read that, I almost hoped that it really WOULD rain on us. What a beautiful pair of adventurous souls I had on my hands!!
The weather ended up clearing up just enough for us to explore their original location ideas – Georgetown Canal for a more formal, romantic feeling and then Union Market to show off their fun and spunky sides. As soon as we met up, I knew my suspicions had been correct – these two were a perfect fit! I warned them that everyone feels awkward getting their pictures taken at first – their response? “We don’t feel awkward at all! This is great!”
The rest of our time together was filled with ease and laughter, and now I just can’t wait to be back in DC next November to see them again, this time as the bride and groom!!
