Arden and Chris | Fairfield Lake Engagement Session
Arden and Chris’ springtime Fairfield Lake engagement session in Cashiers, North Carolina was such a dream come true. The flowers were in bloom. The sunset was glorious and the weather warm.
I loved having this time to get to know Arden and Chris better! Theirs is a “modern” love story. As Arden said, “Thank the Lord for swiping right!” Chris proposed on the day of their official one year anniversary while they were visiting New Orleans. They were getting a drink at the Carousel Lounge in the Hotel Montleone before dinner. Before they left, Chris asked someone to take their picture. And before Arden knew it, she heard him saying, “A year ago I asked you to be my girlfriend, and now I’m asking, Sara Arden Rogers, will you marry me?” Just the cutest!
We chose to photograph their engagement session near their home in Sapphire. Old Bald Mountain and Fairfield Lake makes the most beautiful backdrop. There’s a big flat field where Fairfield Inn used to be before it burned down in the 80s. Not only is it stunning, but Arden and Chris love walking their dog Poppy there. They have taken to calling it “Poppy’s field.” We wanted their session to feel like they were just “out taking a walk” they always do — plus a little more romance thrown in there!
