Our weekend in Malad was nothing short of beautiful. The location was absolutely stunning, and the timing was equally perfect: all the wildflowers were in bloom! The hills were overflowing with yellow and purple clusters. Our first evening in Malad offered us the most pristine sunset pouring over us from up in the mountains. Emily, our model for our first evening, is not only gorgeous and a natural in front of the camera, but she is also an incredible BOSS LADY! She started not just one, but TWO businesses – Tanlines Swim and Mentionables, a model-less lingerie line. She is also the woman behind Modest Goddess. You may also recognize her and this scene from my promo film!
For this shoot, Emily is wearing a Lilybelle dress, with a nude-colored capped tee shirt in order to maintain her Modest status. She also did her own hair and makeup, traipsed through the golden flowers and fields of the hills, and even sang a few lines of the Sound of Music just to appease the rest of us. She had four different photographers, a videographer, a couple of flash-wielding men, and a creative producer all directing her and watching her, and she took it all in without even batting an eye.
It is always fun for me to shoot with other photographers and watch the way we all interact and photograph differently, and then, with even more diversity, how we go home and edit those images captured!Lucky for the rest of us, Emily looks good in any pose, and with any style of editing. I’m so grateful I got to meet, work with, and photograph Emily and that she took the time to drive all the way up to Malad to model for us crazy photographers!
