…I’m just kidding. This isn’t actually an engagement session. In fact, these two just celebrated their second anniversary days after I shot this session with them! Well, I should say, days after 14 of us shot this session. Lauren & Evan were part of the incredible crew that contributed to my styled shoot last week!
At the last second, I decided to add another set of models to our shoot so that we could practice working with both an engaged couple and a wedding couple. After we had secured our second set of models, Lauren ended up getting sick with strep throat….and then two days before the shoot, our other couple was no longer able to work with us for the session! So very quickly we rearranged our plans, set out a plea for help, and were able to find another couple to model for us! However, we still did not know which set of models would be our “engaged” couple and which would be our “bride and groom.”
It was all up in the air until about ONE HOUR before the session was supposed to begin! I can’t even tell you how stressful this was for me, but I can tell you how AMAZING Lauren and Evan were throughout the whole process. They both were so easy-going, so kind and patient with me. I like to think of them as my absolute rocks throughout the weeks leading up to the shoot. Other things fell out of place and got frustrated, but these two stayed true to their word. I could always count on them for a smile and a “whatever you need!”
Even though Lauren was still not feeling her best on the day of shoot, she still put on her best smile, got dolled up, and went out into the cold. We ended up deciding that Lauren and Evan were best fit for our engaged couple, and I am SO glad we had them there for this part of the shoot. They were so relaxed and happy and wonderful to work with, despite the chilly weather and the sickness. They made each other laugh and they made all the photographers laugh. They easily followed our instructions and were naturals in front of the camera…they made me look like I knew what I was doing!! 🙂 Having two sets of models to work with and photograph was the perfect addition to the schedule and just made the whole day flow perfectly. I couldn’t be more grateful to them and the other models in our shoot!
I just want to thank both Lauren and Evan so much for their kindness throughout everything. They have truly proven to me that they are a beautiful pair, not just on the outside, but on the inside, as well! I wish them the happiest of anniversaries and hope they enjoy these fun photos (and the others to come shortly from the other photographers, as well!) Love you both!
