Molly and Josh grew up less than an hour away from each other, but their paths never crossed….at least, not until they both went overseas to England. Molly was finishing her Master’s Degree and Josh was performing in a band when they met through mutual friends at the church they were attending in London. They quickly learned that they both came from Maryland, and their friendship bloomed quickly. Josh went back home to Maryland for some time, and when he did, Josh and Molly kept in contact. He told me it went from casual conversation, to always wanting to talk to each other. When Josh returned to England, Â they found that distance really had made the heart grow fonder; Molly and Josh’s relationship began to turn into something much more than just friendship!
Spending my evening with them in downtown Frederick was such a delight. We had had to reschedule once due to rain, and it ended up being such a wonderful blessing that we did! We caught the prettiest sunset, and perfect summery weather! I loved photographing Molly’s engagement ring – not only is it a family heirloom from Josh’s grandmother, but since it is a sapphire, it’s the most colorful ring I’ve gotten the chance to shoot!
Josh and Molly had a comfortable way with each other, a love that just felt good and right to be around. Theirs is the kind of love you think of when you hear the saying, “True love is friendship set on fire.” I am honored and excited to photograph their LDS wedding this August, complete with a backyard ring ceremony!
