When I think of Kayleigh, I remember the fun-loving, confident, beautiful woman I went to high school with. My favorite thing about her is she is never afraid to have a good time, to laugh about life, or to just dance it out. I feel like I know her even better now than I did in high school because I’ve been following her blog + Instagram, and we’ve both discovered that her and I are a lot more alike than we ever thought! Turns out, she’s a natural-birth, natural-immunity, natural-medicine advocate just like I am! I find myself messaging her when I have a health-related question, or us both gushing over a homepathic remedy or whatever else us crunchy women get excited about, ha! And to top it all off, she’s a photographer too!

Meeting up with Kayleigh for this session was so much fun. I had never met her babies before – look at all these handsome young men she gets to call her own! Kayleigh is such a fun, cute boy mom! Our session ended up being spur-of-the-moment, last-minute kind of scheduling. After I delivered her images to her, Kayleigh wrote me and said, “Seeing those pictures, reminded me of … what’s most important. Seeing my family from an outside perspective has really helped and changed my outlook. I truly love them. I can feel the love and it helps to see it. It’s hard to see in the day by day monotony, but look at what we have made!! I would have never thought I would be here.”

I love hearing messages like this from the mamas that I photograph. It helps give meaning to what I do, and also makes me happy to know that in some small way, together we’ve made an impact on the way they feel about themselves, and their role as women and mothers and wives.
