Downtown Asheville Greek Wedding
This downtown Asheville Greek wedding was so much fun to shoot with Ruby Peoples Photography. I got to be her second shooter for this wedding. You know what that means! When I’m the second shooter, I get to hang out with the guys for most of the day while Ruby or my lead photographer is with the bride. I had so much fun with these guys! I met them at their home where they were all getting ready. One hilarious moment was when the groom let each of his groomsmen have a turn shaving off a portion of his mustache. We all were cracking up and I was impressed with his trust in all of them!
The other epic part of my time with them was we got special rooftop access in downtown Asheville. It was in the middle of the day, hot, and sunny but it was still awesome to be on top of this little mountain city. It was worth the mad dash to get there and back to the church before the ceremony started!
Their Greek ceremony was wonderful and the first one I have witnessed and photographed. They had a few similar customs to the Indian wedding that I recently photographed. Such as tying their sashes together and walking around the altar together with their officiant. I always love witnessing new cultures, religions, and traditions within marriage ceremonies!
After their ceremony they of course had a beautiful reception with lots of DANCING! The most fun part of the day! I’m so grateful to Ruby for asking me to shoot this wedding with her and hope I get the chance to photograph more downtown Asheville Greek weddings in the future!
