Flat Mountain Farm Wedding in Highlands North Carolina | Katherine + Andrew

Photographing a Flat Mountain Farm wedding in Highlands is ALWAYS the dreamiest, but there was just something extra special about Katherine and Andrew’s day here. From the splashes of blue throughout the cocktail hour and reception. To the perfect fall colors and the adorable trio of flower girls. This day just simply overflowed with beauty, sophistication, and fun! Katherine was the most stunning, classic bride.

Katherine and Andrew met while she was in law school at Chapel Hill. While Katherine was a little weary of the dating apps, they had swiped right just before she deleted them all. Andrew might have been late to their first date, but he still won points from Katherine. He was late because he was volunteering at a tutoring session.

One Thanksgiving weekend, Andrew rented a cottage. Him and his mom set out candles and flowers on the patio, plus pictures from their relationship. All the perfect set up for a proposal.

When I asked Katherine what they were most excited about getting married, she said, “To be a family.” I think this was the essence of their wedding day. Celebrating each of their families’ love and support for them, and celebrating the new family they were starting together.

Wedding Ceremony at Flat Mountain Farm

Their ceremony was surrounded by the changing fall leaves. Their mothers each lit a candle, which was later used to light their own flame together. The flower girls were kept occupied with lollipops and lots of waves at the crowd. Everyone was happy.
