Hotel Domestique Wedding | Elizabeth + Logan
This stunning Hotel Domestique wedding day started off meeting our Groom Logan at Hotel Domestique where he was starting to get ready, and enjoying time with his closest friends. Simple details: a monogrammed handkerchief and timeless black socks were off-set by his orange, striped tie. He was calm and confident, and didn’t appear affected by nerves. After shooting some portraits of him and the groomsmen, we all hopped into our cars. It was time for him to see his bride.
Their ceremony took place at Pretty Place Chapel in South Carolina. I can only imagine they chose this location for its (usually) stunning views of rolling mountains. However, on this particular afternoon, we saw no such view. The fog had rolled in so thick that all we could see behind the cross was a blank, white wall. The fog pushed back so strong, I kept wiping my lens only to discover it wasn’t my gear at all. But the fog and the lack of view didn’t stop Elizabeth’s smile.
Oh those photos of her walking down the aisle! They are the classiest, most stunning portrayal of a bride just SO ready to get married. Her smile filled the whole chapel. It was as if everyone in attendance had audibly gasped in unison at seeing her joy. She was truly radiating. And then, quick! – sneak a glance at Logan. He’s so overwhelmed, he closes his eyes. Just such a sweet, special moment for everyone.
Gahh!! Doesn’t it just feel like you’ve been transported to a small villa in France? I just love these European vibes!!
The Wedding Ceremony at Pretty Place, South Carolina
I know they were hoping for clear skies and a grand view of the hills below that Pretty Place is so well known for, but the fog was beautiful in its own way. It gathered around us, enveloping us in a cloud. The photos have a somewhat ethereal, other-worldly feeling to them. It definitely made for the most unique ceremony photos I’ve taken in awhile!
Reception at Hotel Domestique
After their ceremony, the bride, groom, and their guests traveled once again back to Hotel Domestique where beautifully laid tables and chairs awaited them. Not only that, but a fun ice cream bar complete with cookies, brownies, and all kinds of toppings was teasing all the guests as they arrive. Before sitting down to enjoy a meal together, Logan and Elizabeth shared their first dance as husband and wife. Then, with their guests, they all grabbed hands and offered a prayer of gratitude.
