Intimate Pigeon Forge Wedding

Haylee + Stephen

I have been eagerly anticipating Haylee and Stephen’s intimate Pigeon Forge wedding ever since we took their engagement photos at Max Patch! When we first started planning their wedding photography, Haylee told me that God was the center of their lives and relationship, and they wanted their wedding day to reflect that. I don’t think they could have done a better job of accomplishing exactly that!

Haylee and Stephen wanted only their immediate family in attendance. This made their wedding day feel so intimate and special – almost sacred even. It made it obvious how much they cherished their relationship with each other and with God. I loved that everything took place at the cabin they rented! Haylee got ready in the upstairs master bedroom, with Stephen getting ready on the floor below. Their ceremony site was on the back porch, overlooking the Smoky Mountains. Family portraits were at a hike below the porch, and they shared a meal and dancing in the living room of the cabin.

Throughout the day, I heard them speak of how good God had been to them. They held hands and prayed together before seeing one another in their wedding attire. They even asked Haylee’s brother, who was officiating their ceremony, to give a small sermon. Then they shared a sacrament with their family. Then Haylee and Stephen shared the most beautiful vows with one another. I am not kidding when I say that every single person witnessing their vows was wiping tears from their eyes! It was like each one of them had been waiting for this day and this moment just as much as Haylee and Stephen had.

After their portraits together, they sat down to a meal together and invited anyone who wanted to share thoughts with everyone to do so. Then they dimmed the lights and Haylee and Stephen shared their first dance together! Their kids and some of their nieces then started the party right with a choreographed dance for everyone! We all laughed, clapped, and cheered them on. From the moment I walked into their cabin to the moment I said good bye, I felt the joy and gratitude that each one had for this new family that was formed this day! A family in love and a family in God, and I’m so honored to have witnessed and captured it!
