I’m taking everyone back to New Zealand with me for today’s post (I wish, right??!). Remember my first styled shoot at Piha Beach? Well we were lucky enough to have one other couple meet up with us while we were traveling in NZ. However, this time we were in South New Zealand, (you can see North New Zealand here), and the weather and scenery were totally different!! I loved that I got two completely different shoots during the course of this trip! We even did this shoot at sunrise instead of sunset which not only meant things were considerably chillier, but it also meant the light had a different kind of glow to it. We were still shooting near a body of water, but it was at Lake Wakatipu, instead of the ocean, and we were nestled in between mountains. Lara and Yannis were another awesome couple who were brave enough to wake up bright and early and pose for a bunch of crazy photographers. Germany is home for them, but they had been traveling all around New Zealand for months!

A small group of us, including me, started shooting the couple first, as we had a horseback riding excursion we had to catch a bus for! I had less time overall with these two than the previous couple, but I still loved every moment with them. Just like last time, it was exhilarating to be shooting amongst such talented photographers, contributing to and learning from each other’s posing, directing, and inspiration. Our one lone wedding planner, Kat from Dear Sweetheart Events, completely blew my mind when she whipped together a stunning bouquet that she practically whipped out of nowhere….all of the flowers were from our rental home’s backyard. Seriously, this girl has talent!! She also carried with her, all the way from the states, a wooden sign from Ash Bush Lettering & Design, with beautiful hand-written calligraphy on it:

Your hand fits in mine like it’s made just for me
