I was excited to work with Linnea and Scott from the very beginning – but my happiness soared to new limits when they mentioned wanting to do bride and groom portraits at the temple the night before their wedding day. This is EXACTLY what I LOVE to hear!! This tells me that they are people who value photos, who are willing to make the time for them, and that they trust me as their photographer! If I could recommend this to ALL my LDS brides, I totally would!! The wedding day is stressful enough and family and friends are typically waiting for you outside the temple, and then there is always the reception to get to, and last minute details to attend to. Doing the bride and groom portraits BEFORE your sealing means that you get alone time with each other, where no one is stressed or rushed…This means you are free to be romantic! You are free to be yourselves. You can make sure you have photos at a time of day where the lighting is most flattering, rather than immediately following the sealing when the sun is directly above and creating harsh shadows. It also means that on the day of your sealing, you get to spend more time enjoying family that has traveled long distances to see you and less time worrying about squeezing it all in.
So Linnea and Scott met me on a Friday evening, with her sister and her new husband coming along as helpers. Linnea’s sister, Kerstin, was the perfect Veil Tosser….you’ll see!! We spent a perfect summer evening touring the temple grounds and capturing the love and excitement that filled their eyes as they knew they were only hours away from being sealed to one another for the rest of time! They were kind, genuine, and….romantic!
The very next day, I once again met Scott and Linnea at the temple in Washington DC. This time, however, they were MARRIED!! I also got the meet the rest of Linnea’s family, and Scott’s too. We had such a fun time with the entire bridal party. I, of course, was loving her pink and gray color scheme and wanted each one of the bridesmaid’s dresses for myself!! Oh, and one of those pink ties for Adam to wear every Sunday, too! This session was equally as gorgeous as the previous night’s. It was, once again, a much more relaxed session since we didn’t have to worry about squeezing their bride & groom portraits in between their sealing and their reception.
Scott and Linnea already have such a soft, sweet beginning to their marriage. I know theirs will be on that lasts. I loved hearing the way Scott talked about Linnea – it was as if she was all he could possibly think of, and he could hardly imagine a moment where she wasn’t his first thought. I love being a part of this type of love. It gives me so much hope and happiness! Lots of love to you both, and congratulations again!!
