I can still remember that call I got. My phone said Miss Call: Michelle Peterson. But when I called her back right away, it wasn’t Michelle that answered….it was Logan. My heart sank into my stomach, and my mind immediately began to race. Why is Logan calling me on Michelle’s phone? Is something wrong? Did something bad happen to her??
“….Logan?” I asked. “Is everything –”
“We’re PREGNANT!!!” he yelled.
Maybe it was because I was so relieved that nothing was wrong, maybe it was because I had just seen Michelle the month before and she had admitted to me that she thought she might be pregnant. Maybe it was because I knew they had been trying, and wanted this baby for awhile now. But probably it was because I loved these two and could think of no one else more deserving of a sweet baby…..whatever the reason, the water works started right then. I was bawling and screaming and jumping up and down with excitement.
For the following months, I loved receiving random texts from Michelle, asking me if certain symptoms were normal or if she should be worried about certain things. I loved reading her Bump Updates on her blog and seeing her little bump growing.
Many of you know how much Michelle’s friendship has meant to me – we’ve swapped photos, she and Logan filmed my promo video, we started the Michelle and Meghan retreat, she has helped me through forgetting the dress at my styled shoot, second shot for me at a blazing hot wedding, and overall just been there for me through tough business days and even tougher life days. I can’t wait to see this magnificent team become parents.
Michelle admitted that as excited as she was for a baby to come, she was also sad to see the “Just Us” phase come to an end. I told her that it may be the end of one chapter, but once you jump into the next one you never look back. Bringing a baby into your relationship only makes your love stronger, truer, and more selfless. It’s a deeper kind of love and life, and I know Michelle and Logan will fall perfectly into it.
