Rachel: Bridal Portraits at Historic London Town Gardens

When we changed the date of our styled shoot, it meant losing a few photographers that had signed up to participate…it also meant losing a vendor and our solo bride model. I was pretty bummed…until I remembered my florist, Tedi, and suggested I reach out to Rachel. I didn’t know this until later, but…both Tedi and Rachel are cheerleaders for the Redskins!! I feel like I just photographed a celebrity 😉

The first time I met Rachel at Annapolis Formal to try dresses on her, I knew she was going to be the perfect fit for not only for the “look” of the shoot, but also the overall “vibe” of the shoot. Rachel was elegant, confident, clearly GORGEOUS – but even more than that? She was naturally and genuinely cheerful. Her smile was the best, an innocent little nose-crinkle to precede each laugh. She was also blonde that first day I met her, but when she showed up to the shoot she was definitely brunette. At first I was a little disappointed, as I LOVED her blonde hair. But as Vintage Veils did their thing, I was SO happy with her darker hair. I loved having one model with blonde hair (Sarah) and one with dark hair, and her brunette hair lent itself perfectly to the whimsical, romantic floral updo by Valerie. She reminds me of a Jane Austen novel!

And then, even though Dock portraits weren’t exactly “blossom-themed” – I just couldn’t resist! We ended the night out on the water, facing the sunset. So perfect!!
