I first met Stephanie at Kristen and Matt’s wedding last March. Not only was she one of Kristen’s bridesmaids, but she is also Matt’s sister. She emailed me a few months after the wedding and mentioned me probably not remembering her, but of course I did! Who could forget when her adorable blonde-haired boy had been the ring-bearer at the wedding?! She wrote to ask if I would be able to take newborn photos when their little girl arrived – I was completely shocked because I hadn’t even known she was pregnant when I met her during the wedding! Of course I said yes and we all eagerly awaited baby girl’s arrival. When I finally got the message that said Taylor had arrived last week, I couldn’t wait to meet the newest addition to the Richelson family!
I always love being invited into people’s homes in the days following a baby’s birth. There always seems to be an atmosphere of peace amid the chaos. Yes, life with a newborn is rough and usually always messy, in all sense of the word, but it is also Warmth. Reverence. Love. Completeness. The Richelson home was no exception, and I felt privileged to be one of the first people to ever hold this new life and new beginning. It was also so fun to see how much little Nick had grown in just the past 6 months! He was the sweetest big brother to little Taylor, worrying over her small cries and just wanting to be in the same room as her. Once Taylor had a full belly, she was content and happy to cooperate with all our demands and adjustments to her.
I’m so happy I got to capture this fleeting time in their lives! Congratulations to Stephanie, Tony, and big brother Nick. Taylor is the perfect addition to your sweet family!
