Engagement Photos at Sunset Rock | Highlands, North Carolina
Adam and Kayla decided to take their engagement photos at Sunset Rock in Highlands, North Carolina. I loved meeting up with them there! One of my favorite parts about photographing at Sunset Rock is the walk up to the top. I don’t normally start photographing until we are almost to the top, so this gives us a chance to just chat and get to know one another! I loved learning that Kayla and Adam were high school sweethearts. They were in a lot of the same classes like art and English together. Adam asked Kayla to a lunch study date which became a surprise picnic, and soon they were senior prom dates. College took them 700 miles apart. But they thought better of letting that be the end and gave long distance a try. Almost five years later when they graduated, they split the distance and met halfway between Boston and Raleigh by moving to Washington, D.C., and then on to Durham. These two have clearly already been through so much together!
Their proposal is an equally sweet story! After visiting their families for Thanksgiving, Adam detoured to their first date spot. That’s right — another picnic! So cute. These two said they can’t wait to start building a life and family together and exploring the world together.
