The Vineyards at Betty’s Creek | A Family Session
My sweet friend Cathy is expecting baby number three, and it looks like a BOY will be breaking their tie. When Cathy mentioned wanting to do maternity photos, she suggested we go to the Vineyards at Betty’s Creek. I was so excited to go back to this beautiful property! I had second shot a wedding there this past summer and fell in love with the stone buildings, ivy crawling up the walls, and the Smoky mountains in the far distance. Not to mention, this spot offers so many great spots for portraits!
Not only was it winter time with barren trees, but we also had gray muted skies. While I was glad for the warm weather in February, I had been hoping for sunshine. Overcast skies might mean even lighting, but it also means muted colors and low contrast. So I wanted to make sure things didn’t look….flat. At the Vineyards at Betty’s Creek we didn’t have to worry about that! The ivy provided the greenery I was craving, and the old stone walls, trails, and rustic buildings provided interesting texture and backdrops. It was perfect!
These two sweet kids go to my church and it will be so fun to see them become siblings to another new little one in their home! I’m so glad I had the chance to photograph this family of four – soon to be five!
